Fingerprint Powders

Our range of latent fingerprint powders are sourced from the world's leading manufacturers to ensure that they won't let you down when you need them. 

Black, White, Grey, Silver, Red, Gold, Copper,  Dual Purpose (Bio-chromatic), fluorescent (red, pink, green, silver/red, yellow). Various size jars are available for all latent print powders: these range from 2 oz to 128 oz containers. Wide mouth jars are available on request and larger (bulk) volumes can be ordered if required.

Please Note: Latent print powders are sold by the size of the container they fill (their volume) vs their weight, as different powders weigh different amounts. e.g.: A small jar of Standard Black Powder (8 oz) has a net weight of 66 grams yet the same sized jar of White Powder has a net weight of 108 grams.  We ensure that we list BOTH the volume and the weight in all sales of latent print powders so you know exactly what you are getting.

Fingerprint Magnifiers/Eye Glasses

Images appear sharp, clear and focused over the entire viewing area available in 3.2, 4, 4.5 or 5 X magification, frames available in aluminium or coated stainless steel. All available with a full range of classification disks as optional extras.

Optical Comparators

Our comparators are specifically designed to allow for operator convenience and performance.

They are ideally suited for full screen, side by side examination and comparision of latent fingerprints to suspect prints, suspect counterfeit money may be compared with legal tender, questioned documents and signatures may be compared with known examples.

Various types of units available that range in magnification of 5X - 45X, well positioned easy to use control knobs raise and lower the units stainless steel surface platforms for image focusing.

Redwop™ Fluorescent Powder

Redwop™ and Greenwop™ fluorescent powders have a Lycopodium base and were developed specifically to be luminescence-excited by relatively monochromatic light sources emitting blue-green light. They all work very well with argon ion, copper vapor and Nd:YAG lasers, and they can also be used successfully with simple ultraviolet lamps. It is recommended that a feather duster be used to apply these powders. The feather duster applies the powder in a thinner, more controlled layer than other types of applicators.

The special cohesive-buffer effect of the Lycopodium carrier tends to "flow" the powder over the hills and valleys of the textured surfaces that would otherwise be "painted" with conventional powders. Each color of powder fluoresces at slightly different wavelengths to provide two options when dealing with problem background florescence.

Having the widest range of sensitivity, Redwop™ fluorescent powder is recommended as a primary use fluorescent powder for examination of latent prints with portable lasers, Forensic Light Sources and ultraviolet light sources.

The ZEPHYR® brush is, without question, the finest brush ever developed for use in applying latent print powder to dust for latent fingerprints. The 6 1/2" long brush consists of thousands of fibre bundles, each being composed of over a hundred individual treated-glass filaments. The diameter of the glass filaments is a fraction of the diameter of regular hair fibres used in other fingerprint brushes, resulting in a brush with unsurpassed working qualities. The outstanding characteristics of the ZEPHYR® brush are its long life, capacity to pick up and retain large amounts of fingerprint powder, and the fact that the filament ends become softer with use. Use one ZEPHYR® brush for black powder and one for silver/gray powder.

Since 1956, the ZEPHYR® brush is the ORIGINAL and still the best fibreglass fingerprint dusting brush available..Do not be misled by imitators who may claim superiority for their product.
